My students created the models of the city in their dreams and we exhibited them on the school corridor. It gave us the chance to share our project with the other teachers, students and parents. I am so proud of my students who worked hard through the project :)

CITY DRAWINGS These are our city drawings. My students worked in pairs to make the drawings, as not everyone is talented at drawing and painting, so they helped each other. That's why we ended up having only 6 drawings.

ONLINE POSTER PUZZLE My students created posters for the project, then they voted their favourite one. I didn't tell them which poster was the winner. Instead, I made them play the puzzle that was created and this way they found out the winner poster. They played on their phones and each tried to be the first one to complete the puzzle.

3D CITY MODELS I divided the children into groups of 4-6 and let them exercise their creativity. They imagined what their city would look like, then created it out of various recyclable materials (milk cartons, cardboard) and other objects. They glued, painted and named the buildings. At the end, students had to present their city to their classmates, using the new vocabulary they had learned (names of buildings, places, means of transportation). I think this was the most fun activity of the project for them. These are some of the 3D models my students created for the model city. They imagined colourful cities with clean and safe streets, and many useful buildings.

FACILITIES OF THE CITY This activity was organized in groups. My students had to create a poster: they had to think of sentences to describe the various places in the city, specifically what people can do in different places in the city. Some of their sentences: You can learn at school. You can eat at the restaurant. You can watch a movie at the cinema. You can visit a museum. You can buy things at the supermarket. You can see animals at the zoo. You can buy meat at the butcher's. You can buy medicine at the pharmacy.

KAHOOT GAME My students had a great time playing the games their friends sent them. I hosted the game online and they played on their phones. They absolutely loved it and now they want to play a game at each lesson! The competitive character of the game made them more focused on learning and remembering the words. My students brainstormed how to define places in the city, then made them into a little kahoot game for their partners. Playing games is a fun way of reviewing vocabulary. https://create.kahoot.it/share/in-town-vocabulary/e92f33c5-3da1-4693-9571-1350bb313594

The tasks were divided among them, so that everyone was able participate in some way, according to their abilities. For the slogans, they came up with some simple catchy phrases in groups, then we all chose the best ones to be included on canva. Here are the two slogans they created.
